In this episode we will be discussing the world view of those who see Jesus as just a good teacher. We discussed many and varied topics. I mention C.S. Lewis' Trilemma (Jesus as either Liar, Lunatic, or Lord) it was from his work Mere Christianity (link is to the pdf. p. 31 for the quote. Page 55-56 for the book).
Also, in this conversation we talked of the Ministerial and Magisterial Use of Reason. This boiled down refers to the use of reason as either the deciding factor in what is authority. Ministerial use of Reason refers to how our reason is held subject to something else as the higher authority. As Christian that higher authority would be God's Holy Scripture. The magisterial use of Reason then is the opposite. When one's reason is allowed to dominate and is placed than above everything else. Therefore if something is not easily understood by reason and logic it must not be real.
Of course there may have been times when we lost track of our studies focus. There was one occasion when a joke was repeated from a member. If you took offense at the particular joke (although it was not an offense joke per-say) I ask for you forgiveness. As with the other podcasts there maybe times when things are said that are not always on topic or always focused or said in the right ways. It is but by the grace of God we go.
